Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is an ever expanding concept that pertains to meeting both the social and economical needs of the world without hindering the natural processes of the environment.

Since its introduction by the The World Commission on Environment and Development in 1987 the term "sustainable development" refers to a systematic approach to achieving human development in a way that preserves our planetary resources, and is based on the recognition that human consumption is occurring at a rate that is beyond Earth's ability to support it. The very concept of sustainable development, however, had taken many shapes until it became a global concern in the 1990s.

So what exactly is sustainable development today, and can it be subject to only famin or social disorder? In many cases, the concept does ensure that each person is given enough sustinance to ensure the health and prosperity of that individual no matter what their economic standing is. Each individual should be given the legal rights, abilities, and freedom to purchase the foods necessary to survive. In short, sustainable development is defined as the preservation of all human life.

Of course, sustainable development is not only relegated to social economics. Aside from those in the workforce, every individual in the world should have the legal right to both professional, and personal growth. Through sustainable development every individual can be protected without disrupting the environment, for example in the United States entire families and individuals can be given Subsidised housing(aka social housing)which are accommodations supported by the government for people with moderate to low incomes. There are different type of subsidies one of which includes direct housing subsidies, public housing, rent supplements, non-profit housing, and several types of private sector, and co-operative housing.

Governments, charities, and world health orginizations can cut costs by using green building materials to build these homes. Orginizations can use materials like recycled plastics, bamboo or engineered laminate flooring made from renewable resources, glass bottles, and cellulose insulation made from recovered post-consumer news paper. In addition, there are thousands of homes centers in the United States and throughout the rest of the world that specialize in green building materials. Each of these home centers offer everything from recycled linoleum and recycled floor carpets, to glass and recycled countertops and tiles for any sized kitchen.

With so many opportunities available to maintain both human and environmental life the disruption of the environment is unnecessary. Earth's natural resources are no infinit, our goals for a better future can be achieved without placing a strain on the finacial opportunities, and incomes of all our subsequent and future generations.

People who work with hazerdus materials have rules to follow to keep themselves and the environment safe. Folks who work in high places must employ safety kit to guarantee they do not slip and fall. Safe guards are now implemented by the world stateu; so that work standards are put into effect with mechanisms to meet international safety standards. Of course accidents do happen in these type of jobs. Accidents are often caused by human blunder when safety proticals were no longer followed.

What does sustainable development mean when it pertains to nutrition service? Many of today's domestic foods are controlled by the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nourishment ( CFSAN ). The sole mission of the CFSAN is to regulate foods that are imported into the United States. The U.S Office of farming and the FDA require that employees in the food service industry have the previous training in the propper handling of food.

How is sustainable development related to preventing food-born illnesses in the food industry? Foods served cold should be stored at temperatures between 40 ーF - 140 ーF to prevent bacterial growth. Such meats as poultry, beef, seafood, and other forms of meat may sit in ice and be packed while still frozen so that they stay colder longer. All food handling personell in charge of recording food temperatures are required to follow health guidelines to keep food from reaching the critical bacterial levels also known as the "Danger Zone". Food that reach beyond DangerZone levels should not be served to the general public, and should be immediately disposed of.

Foods in direct contact with the general public like saladbars and buffets must contain a shield in place to prevent food contamination through human contact. Such contact includes, physical contact with food, sneezing, and or coughing on public food.

Sustainable development encompases all the many ways in which humans interact with the world. From the protection of people, to the supply of food, and the environment, both human and animal life is dependent on the proper function of the Earth's ecosystems.
